An International Member of:
American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery
Dr Chan completed his medical degree at the University of Adelaide.
After internship, Dr Chan was accepted into the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons into surgical training
amongst a large competitive field. Whilst in training Dr Chan, realising his special interest in cosmetic surgery, undertook
extra instructional courses in rhinoplasty, facial anatomy and research to better equip himself for his intended cosmetic surgical career.
As part of his training, Dr Chan gained experiences though the Department of Ear Nose and Throat, General Surgery,
Urology, Orthopaedics, Vascular and Plastic Surgery. Whilst with the Department of Plastic Surgery Dr Chan was trained in the management of
burns, plastic reconstruction, microsurgery, tendon and nerve repairs of hand injuries.
The training in the Royal Australian College of Surgeon is second to none in the world. Australian surgeons
are recognised and well respected worldwide as their work is of the highest standard and quality.
Nevertheless it is well known that within the College of Surgeons, the specialty/department
of cosmetic surgery does not exist and hence no training for those who seek it. Dr Chan therefore continued his training at the Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery (ACCS).
The Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery (ACCS) provides fellowship training specifically in
cosmetic surgery. With Dr Chan's sole interest in this field, he chose to continue his discipline with the ACCS.
After serious consideration, Dr Chan resigned from the traditional college - Royal Australian College of
Surgeons as a surgical trainee and joined the Australian College of Cosmetic Surgery, in order to pursue cosmetic surgical experience and training.
This enables Dr Chan to provide quality craftsmanship and care for his patients.
Dr Chan was the youngest ever to be admitted to the AustralAsia College of Cosmetic Surgery (ACCS) amongst fierce
competition. There he furthered his training with the college for 2 years.
Furthermore Dr Chan sought a further two year fellowship with Dr Eng Peng Tan, who is a well - renowned
Cosmetic Plastic Surgeon. Dr Tan's specialty and ideology in the art, skill and technique of breast augementation and rhinoplasty has been adopted by Dr Chan.
Dr Chan was also accepted as an International Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. This is the
gold standard body representative of Cosmetic Surgery in America for the last 25 years. The continuing education the academy provides is
exemplary.
Dr Chan lives and breathes cosmetic surgery and this is his passion. He is compassionate to the art of breast enlargement (Boob Job) and rhinoplasty (Nose Job) and strongly believes the transformation it may provide.
He places great importance on keeping up to date with the latest techniques and technologies, by travelling aboard to visit recognised clinics. He is also involved with applied surgical research and offer presentations at College's Meetings.
Dr Chan enjoys competitive soccer on weekends. He competes in a regular soccer league as a striker and scores frequently for his team. Dr Chan enjoys his sports as this adds a happy balance to his lifestyle. He is equally accomplished on and off field.
